Summer Programs are a way to explore your interest, break up your summer, and show colleges you are pursuing your passions. If you are interested in a summer program, here are a few of the many options available.
2020 ASU Programs
The Barrett Summer Scholars (BSS) program provides students with the opportunity to experience college firsthand and prepare for enrollment and success at Arizona State University and Barrett, the Honors College. The program is designed for academically talented and motivated students entering the 8th, 9th, and 10th grade in Fall 2020. Our residential program invites students to live on campus, engage in college-level coursework, and participate in a community of peers from across the state.
César E. Chávez Leadership Institute
The César E. Chávez Leadership Institute seeks to improve access to higher education for Arizona high school students entering their junior and senior year by providing, at no cost to students, a variety of enriching experiences emphasizing leadership development and civic engagement, while advocating for the completion of high school, attending college and educational opportunities at Arizona State University. Since 1995 more than 1,300 students have benefited from participating in the program.
The Clubes de Ciencia Arizona non-residential summer program engages students in engaging and innovative workshops (clubes) designed and implemented by young scientists from the most prestigious universities and research institutions. Students will experience a week of university-level STEM courses covering topics that include brain function, material sciences, biotechnology, molecular sciences, hyperspectral imaging and machine learning.
Join us for the ASU Summer Experience at West where students in entering grades 9-12 in Fall 2020 will participate in unique, college-prep experiences. Participants will enjoy interactive activities that may include research, laboratory visits, presentations, seminars, college-major explorations and panel discussions led by current ASU students and faculty. Join other high school students for an overnight, weeklong summer enrichment experience on Arizona State University’s West campus.

Coding Camp: 8-10, Duration: 1 Week
Young Global Entrepreneurs: Grades 8-10, Duration: 1 Week
Health Ninja Warriors Camp: Grades 7-9, Duration: 1 Week

Mayo Clinic CARES, Deadline January 31, 2020
The Mayo Clinic CARES program in Arizona is intended to introduce, prepare, and inspire high school students of various backgrounds and potentials for a career in the health care industry in a summer program with continuing longitudinal mentorship.
